Queen Latifah

Dana Elaine Owens is an American singer and rapper better recognized under the stage name Queen Latifah. The role of Queen Latifah in television, film as well as music has earned numerous awards. This includes a Golden Globe Award two Screen Actors Guild Awards Two Image Awards A Grammy Award Six additional Grammy Nominations Emmy Award Nomination and an Academy Award. Queen Latifah is the daughter of Newark New Jersey native. Her parents are Lancelot Sr. who was a policeman, as well as Rita instructor in Irvington High School. The couple split when Latifah was ten years old. Latifah, who was born and was raised within Newark New Jersey attended Catholic schools in Newark. Latifah means gentle and very generous. Dante Ross of Tommy Boy Music has signed Latifah upon hearing the track. Her first single Wrath of My Madness, in the year 1988.
